Hello Foodie friends 🙂 This one goes specially to all the delhi foodie friends we have 🙂 #Stressfree#super Chilled out#Morning#Breakfast Buffet#firends#gossip#awesome food#good music…….. may be much more 🙂
Friends if you wondering what is this one after spanish then you will discover soon….lol….I know did trouble you all and my bestie Sakshi with spanish inputs in last post.. But was it not much for the moment…love and valentines and spanish.. go hand in hand..don’t they 🙂 Well will surely end on a spanish note today as well as i still continue to be in that mode But before that lots coming your way today 🙂
Amazing Chilled out place around town… Monkey Bar (a new favourite in South Delhi)… the name so interesting you may not be able to forget 🙂 Place too stress free and chilled out you may fall in love with 🙂 Foodies this post is again among the ones much decided by destiny 🙂 So just yesterday ie Saturday morning we were at Monkey Bar to try on their newly launched breakfast buffet.
Opened much before in Bangalore, Monkey Bar,the gastro-pub has developed a cult-status in Cinderella city , and the folks behind it have recreated the concept in Delhi 🙂 It was quiet on our wish list. Saturday seemed like a good plan, lazy morning but much excitement of visiting new place and breakfast buffet dragged us there around eleven in the morning 🙂 Sounds too early for a Saturday… may be BUT……
As we entered the place the excitement doubled in fact 🙂 Foodies this place to our surprise seemed to be breaking the rules of restaurant game in delhi. Located in glass pyramid and rather than being shiny and new, it is done quietly the bohemian way 🙂
We made ourselves comfortable at a corner up the staircase just pretty close to the glass pyramid view 🙂 The really long menu made us even more hungry 😉 The chilly called for a nice tea and so we ordered their Masala Chai. The perfect blend of spices and sweetness in tea made the right decision to start with.
The wide variety of choices and names on the real long menu excites you to order food of your choice. There is variety for all. Vegetarians, eggie tarians and non vegetarians 🙂 We eyed on the menu for veggie eggie and interesting sounding stuff. So we ordered Chilli Cheese Vada Pav and Akuri to begin with 🙂 Both were interesting in their own way. Chilli Cheese Vada Pav was actually a twist on the original and common vada pavs. From its super cute presentation to mix of flavours of butter, garlic, cheese and ghaati masala from Mumbai was yum yum 🙂
Cereal Sundae was next that caught our attention. Foodies this Sundae is a mix of dried cranberries, wheat bran, oats & honey with lemon yoghurt. let me highlight that lemon yoghurt 🙂 the crunchiness of cereals along with yogurt and bananas and strawberries to top it was just perfect and soothing 🙂
Next came eggs florentine. This serves for both non veggies and veggies but eggies 🙂 All you have to do is stress upon having with creamy spinach instead of ham. Spinach is our weakness and surely attracts us anytime of the meal. This dish is gui, soft, mouth melting and the best for spinach lovers like us 🙂
I know what are you wondering….. Once a foodie always a foodie 😉 Yes that stands true for us because we still had the appetite for more 😉 Also the attentive staff with a urge to make you try their speciality pushes to make space for extra 😉
So then came Garden of five senses 🙂 But as space seemed getting lesser we requested for a tasting platter so as to make sure we do not waste food 🙂 Among all the platter contains for you Gratinated vegetable crepe and feta stuffed mushrooms are definitely different and a win win 🙂
So wanted to try Banana nutella smoothie as it looked real tempting but yes tummy was quiet giving up on space now 🙂 But yet the sweet tooth pushed us in for Red Velvet Waffle 🙂 This one served with cream cheese and almond praline give a crunch along with perfect amount of sweetness 🙂 This was different yummy and a perfect end to wide variety of breakfast buffet for us 🙂
But foodie friends it doesn’t end even here as we enjoyed breakfast buffet which indeed has much more along with a seperate All day menu@ Monkey Bar 🙂
So no BUT… actually worth it for a wholesome breakfast too.
Talking beyond food the place is massive. But despite being massive, the ambience of Monkey Bar is inviting and warm. Wood floors, rustic furniture, leather bound chairs, brick style walls set the tone for stress free and super chill mood 🙂 the top “level” is for those looking to sit down and eat, there’s an area around the bar for people to stand around and dance, and a little nook towards the back is a place for people to play games and get drinks 🙂
All in all if all that sounds too tempting to resist then Delhi foodie friends go and check out for yourself 🙂 Reasonably priced and good portions may leave you satiating 🙂 Wide variety offers you an equal emphasis on food and drinks and plenty of good ones out there that merit several visits. We shall too plan another visit soon 🙂
